There was a theater at Trop and Pecos, and another one on, I think, Jones near DI, or in that neighborhood. The VIP entrance is located at Dolby Live's Main Entrance inside Park MGM's casino. And don't forget the Stardust Drive-in behind the Stardust Hotel. It was almost too far out in the country to survive in those days. There was also another drive-in on Cheyenne across the street from the NLV Airport. Later, I think the same people who built the Cinedome on DI and Decatur, built a domed theater on the drive-in site on Lamb. There was a drive-in on the Boulder Highway about where the Boulder Station is located, and another one on Lamb between Vegas Valley Dr and Karen. One was part of the Boulevard Mall, only in the south lot, and one was a block south on the banks of the wash. There were two theaters on Maryland Parkway. Of course the Huntridge is still standing at Charleston and Maryland Pkwy and there are always promises to restore it. The theater was run by Dick Goldsworthy and his wife. It was completely torn down and a new mall built in its place, I think in the 1980s. There was also the Fremont Theater down the block from that, and on Charleston and Bruce was a theater in what was then the first indoor mall in Nevada, The Charleston Plaza Mall. There is a gift shop on Fremont where the El Portal Movie Theater used to be. Those were nice, especially the Cinedome when it opened and was one huge screen, but they weren't that old. ![]()
